66 days till move-in time!
About a month ago Toby and I discovered this little gem of a townhouse and officially made it ours. After weeks of searching for a place to live, God finally led us to the perfect place! We visited several different apartment complexes and scoured Craigslist and the Internet for apartment listings. A little discouraged, we soon found out that we could only afford a 1-bedroom apartment around 650 sq. ft. -- and if we were lucky -- maybe it would have a washer/dryer connection. But that's part of the first few years of marriage, and we knew we would be excited with whatever place we chose.
We ended up driving to yet another apartment complex that a friend recommended, and on our way home we passed by a row of townhomes. Of course I loved them and of course we thought there was no way we could afford them, but we turned into the parking lot and looked for a "For Rent" sign. Finding one, we called the number and asked the woman on the phone how much -------------------- to our surprise and great benefit it was amazingly LESS than the all of the other apartments we had considered. Not only is it a whopping 1,100 sq. ft. ((which equals a mansion for newlyweds finishing their undergrad)) but it has 2 bedrooms, a huge living room, a patio with a privacy fence, and my very own soil to ((at least try to)) plant my very own green stuff. Oh, and the little row of rose bushes you see in the picture were included. I'd say we found a deal. Better yet, I'd say God led us to the perfect little home He meant for us to have.
Since then, we've been buying furniture, slowly moving things over to the place, and yes, have watered our rose bushes. Of course we won't officially move in till August 4th ((9 weeks and a little more than 3 days in case you're wondering)), but I've had so much fun visualizing how the place will soon look!
The other day Toby randomly told me, "I can't wait to see what you do to our place." I don't think I've ever been so happy to hear him talk about our future.
And for those of you who can't take any more of my sappy blog post, you'll be happy to know that many cookouts and football-watching nights are in the future. ((Thanks Momma and Dad for the grill!))
Can't wait to post before and after pics later this summer! A big thanks to our Father for blessing us and to our four parents ((and grandparents)) for spoiling us. Did I mention only 9 more weeks and 3 days???????
How exciting! God is surely pleased as we step into the blessings He's prepared.
